Angel Cervantes Ms. Lehmann English 1-1A 27 February 2020 The Worst Vacation I remember me and my family standing outside our hotel room, waiting for someone to help us. It was getting late, and we were getting sleepy. I remember the feeling of being worried because I didn’t know if me and my family would even sleep in a bed. The only sound in the hotel hallway was the sound of our voice. It was a hot day in July, we were in a Best Western Hotel Inn on 4th floor, and it had a great view of Salt Lake City. Our hotel was located in city center. It was close to big stores like Walmart and many restaurants. We had two rooms, but the rooms were connected, so we only asked for one keycard. My brother had the keycard because he thought he was responsible, so he volunteered to take care of the keycard. I was feeling hungry, but I wanted to go to sleep. It was around 10pm, my family was hungry, so we decided to go to a gas station not far from the hotel and get some snacks and drinks. I wanted to go swim in the pool because it was about to close. I was the only one in the swimming pool, and stayed until it closed, which was about ten minutes. When I got out of the of the pool, I thought my family was back from the store, so I got out. I went to the room and knocked on the door, but no one answered, so I went to the lobby and waited. My mom and my sister came with the stuff. I told them where is my brother and my dad. My mom said they are outside trying to find the keycard. It was getting late,so we decide to stay inside. They tried retracingtheir steps. We were looking through the hallway. My mom works in a hotel, and she called the manager in the hotel she works at. My mom explained to her manager that we lost our keycard and couldn’t find anyone to help. Her manager called the manger from the hotel we were staying in. They sent someone to get us a new keycard. We were waited until 12am,but a person came in and gave us new keycard. We went to sleep and woke up for the free breakfast. We got changed to go on the road again. We went to lagoon and wenton some rides. We wanted to go to the waterpark, but we didn't have any extra clothes. The new hotel was not far from the park. We asked the people up front if we could go out of the park and come back. They said it was ok and gave us a wrist band to wear so they would let us backin. We drove back to the hotel and got extra clothes. When we were in the lobby, I realized that I forgot my pants.I found them in my backpack, and then I heard something fall out of the pocket. It wasa keycard. I thought it was the one we lost in the other hotel. I took it so I could prank everyone when we came back from the waterpark. Back at the park, I went down a slide. I heard a snap, and when I got off, I found one half of the keycard. I thought it was okay because it wasn’t the one we needed.Later, when I finished changing, my brother ask if you hadthe keycard. I said no, and he was freaking out about not finding the keycard. When we got back, my brother said it was in his pants. That’s when I realize that our keycard was the one I broke on the water slide. We went to the lobby, askingthe person working there if we could get a new card.He gave us a new one, but said they couldn’t give us a new one next time. That’s how the day ended. I learned never to trust my brother with something important.
